What are Shards and Bits?
Shards and Bits are short descriptions, intended to add “color” and variety to a number of settings. They are small pieces a Game Master can put together to “build” something larger – dungeon, city, etc. They can also be used to insert detail into a GM’s own material.
Bits are small pieces that can be stuck in, anywhere a little description is needed. Shards are slightly larger, and may describe a particular place or event, or set a feel for an area.
Often Game Masters desire to develop their own locations or adventures, but not all feel up to it all the time. Some turn to purchased material, where everything is written out for them in detail. Others work on their own, but may not have the time, energy or experience to put in as much color and description as they would like.
Our descriptions (fantasy, modern, and future) are designed to serve these Game Masters, as part of the “Harried Game Master” line of products, providing the materials we’ve always wished to have.
